A Festively Bold Makeup Look

When I think of make-up at Christmas, I prefer to think bold. Red lips, glittery eyeshadows, excessive amounts of highlight - you name it, I adore it. After all, it's party season! Whether you're heading out for a Christmas party, getting ready for Christmas Day or partying on New Year's Eve, nothing beats looking glitz and glam. Here are the products I'll be using in the coming weeks to achieve my favourite festively bold look.

Whether you're wearing this look for a Christmas party or on Christmas Day itself, a foolproof base is absolutely essential. My skin has an unfortunate tendency to lack in radiance, so after moisturising I'll use the Clinique Superprimer for dullness correction before applying my beloved Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. The slightly dewy, radiant finish is perfect for this look, while the primer helps to keep any unwanted oiliness at bay. To hide my tired eyes and conceal any blemishes, I'll always reach for my favourite concealer, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.

The eyes and lips are the main focus of this look, however I'll still add some soft contour to sculpt out my cheekbones. For this I'll reach for Honey Bronze Bronzer from The Body Shop and use it along with my favourite cheek pick for this time of year, Sin from NARS. It gives a flush like no other and is the perfect pretty plum shade for Winter. For highlight, I am head over heels in love with MAC's Skinfinish in Lightscapade and I am certainly not shy to packing on the highlight. The festive season is all about the glow.

I have loved the Naked 3 palette all throughout this year and so it's inevitable that it plays a vital part in my bold, festive eye look. My favourite shade to dust over my lids is Trick, which is a beautiful shimmering bronze. I'll then smoke this out with Factory. I'll apply a little bit of Mugshot into the outer corners for further depth, before amping up the drama by applying some winged liner. My most reached for liquid liner is always Rimmel Glam Eyes as it's just super easy to use.

For my brows, my go-to is none other than Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. I love how versatile it is - whether you want more natural looking brows or all-out defined and bold, it can be achieved with this product. For me, no bold look would be complete without a pair of lashes. They just add a beautiful completion to a gorgeous eye look. My go-to are Eylure no. 116. I find that they add just the perfect length and volume without being too over the top.

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a bold red lip. No surprises there! I'll line my lips with Cherry lip liner from MAC, which aids in making the look as bold and as vibrant as possible. Then I'll reach for my go-to red lip at the moment, which is Vera by NARS. It's a gorgeous deep red shade with a very subtle golden shimmer. This lip shade is a staple for me all year round - but I feel like at Christmas, it couldn't be more fitting to finish off a festively bold look.

What are your favourite products to use to complete your festive look?
