7 Steps to a Perfect Pamper Evening

Sundays. There's no denying they are the perfect days to set some time aside for yourself to relax before the week ahead. What better way to do that than by turning your bathroom into your own private spa to enjoy a serene pamper evening?

GRAB YOUR ESSENTIALS AND RUN A BATH
For me, a pamper evening wouldn't be complete without a hot bubble bath. They are the perfect way to unwind. Run your bath and pop in a Lush bath bomb. I'm using the Shoot for The Stars bomb that I had left over from Christmas, which has a beautifully sweet honey-toffee scent. Grab some other essentials, such as your favourite book, scented oils, a fluffy towel and perhaps even a glass of wine and some chocolates...

SET THE MOOD
Make sure your bath is at your preferential temperature. If it's too hot, you will become light-headed and nauseous as your body overheats - and we certainly don't want that. It has taken me a while to master the perfect temperature between the Atlantic Ocean and molten lava - but I think I've finally got it. Dim the lighting, light up a few of your favourite candles and turn on your favourite relaxing playlist.

CLEANSE CLEANSE CLEANSE
Use your favourite cleanser to cleanse your face before getting into your hot bath. The steam from the bath will work wonders with your skin and will open up your pores - so you certainly don't want to get into the bath with a full face of make-up. I'm still loving my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish.

GIVE YOUR SKIN SOME TLC
Once you're in your bath, use your favourite body scrub to exfoliate your skin. Recently I have been loving the Soap and Glory Sugar Crush body scrub - it has a beautifully sweet lime scent and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. Give your skin some nourishment with an oil - a great one to use is the L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil which transforms into foam making it perfect for shaving your legs.

MOISTURISE
Once you've enjoyed your bubble bath and you are out and dry - it's the perfect time to moisturise your body. Particularly after using scrubs and oils and shaving your legs, it will fill your skin full of nourishment and leave it feeling super soft. One of my favourites to use at the moment is the Strawberry Body Sorbet from The Body Shop. It feels smooth and lightweight on your skin, without any stickiness or greasiness. It also has an instant cooling sensation which feels wonderfully refreshing.

APPLY A FACE MASK AND NIGHT-TIME SKINCARE
No pampering session would be complete without a face mask. A face mask will give a deep cleanse by drawing out impurities and absorbing excess oils to leave your skin looking gorgeously soft, smooth and free of shine. Lush have a great range of face masks - the one I'm currently using is Cupcake which smells deliciously of chocolate ice cream. Leave the mask on for about 5-10 minutes. Following that, keep your face hydrated throughout the night by applying some night-time skin care. The Origins Drink-Up Intensive Overnight Mask will do this job perfectly. A little goes a long way with this product and you'll wake up with glowing, hydrated skin in the morning.

SNUGGLE INTO CLEAN BEDSHEETS
We all know there's nothing better than getting into clean PJs and clean bedsheets after a relaxing bath. It has to be one of the most comforting feelings in the world! A good night of beauty sleep will do wonders in preparing you for the week ahead.

And there you have it, a perfect pamper evening. It's time to go run a bath, I think!

TIGI Bedhead Colour Goddess Haircare Review

bedhead haircare review

Vibrant, shiny and Disney Princess-esque - there's no denying that these are the qualities we all strive for with our hair and its colour. When it comes to haircare, I hardly consider myself a connoisseur, always opting for the standard £4 drugstore ranges. I have never really given a second thought to spending a lot of money on haircare, which is almost nonsensical when I take into account how much I spend getting my hair done professionally. After hearing wondrous things about a particular range of haircare, my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to fork out the extra cash and treat my locks to its two new BFFs - TIGI's Bedhead Colour Goddess shampoo and conditioner. Forget love at first sight, this one is all about love at first smell. Seriously.

After hearing that these particular haircare products smell deliciously of toffee and vanilla - I was immediately sold. And it does, it really does - and it leaves the scent lingering on your locks all day long. If I were blindfolded and you put it on a spoon in front of me, I would probably eat the stuff without hesitation. Not to mention my shower smells like a beautiful, magical toffee factory.

The oil infused formula in the shampoo contains pro-vitamin B5 and essential nutrient vitamin E. It's also infused with nourishingly sweet almond oil, coconut oil and keratin. The conditioner is infused with sweet almond oil and contains nourishing shea butter, Vitamin E and keratin - hair's key protein. The Colour Goddess products claim to smooth and add shine, enhance colour vibrancy, and moisturise - resulting in strikingly soft hair. Additionally, the conditioner will help to close the cuticle which will have been opened up during colouring - which effects the smoothness and shine of your hair. A huge plus is that neither product contains sulphates, which are hugely guilty for stripping colour and moisture from chemically treated hair.

The packaging is not only gorgeous but the pump on the shampoo is particularly useful for ensuring just the right amount of product each usage. A little truly does go a long way! The shampoo is lightweight and lathers up nicely, where the conditioner is thick and creamy giving a true feeling of moisture. Both wash out easily without leaving behind any residue. If your hair is dry and feeling a bit sad and damaged, I find I get the best results after gently combing out my hair before washing. Also, a great tip from John Harte, TIGI's Creative Team Assistant is as follows: "Giving a cold rinse after conditioning helps to close and seal down the cuticle even more - which is great for coloured hair."

After a month of using these products, I can safely say that they do exactly what they claim to. My colour usually fades exasperatingly quickly, however since introducing these products into my haircare routine I have noticed such an improvement on the longevity of my colour vibrancy. My hair also feels much smoother and shines radiantly - these products have given it some much needed hydration without leaving my locks feeling too heavy. They also help to build up a resistance to breakage during brushing, meaning fewer broken ends which can make your hair look dull and flat - another thing in which I have definitely noticed an improvement. I feel like a little bit of life has finally been injected back into my hair!

Even if you don't have coloured hair you can still enjoy this deliciously-sweet smelling haircare. There will be no colour deposit and you will still see the boost in shine and smoothness as well as benefiting from the UV protection. Goodness all round!

TIGI's Bedhead Colour Goddess shampoo and conditioner have swiftly become holy grail haircare products for me. I definitely think they are worth the extra penny if you are looking for amazing quality haircare. And did I mention the scent? Mhmmm.

Have you tried the Colour Goddess shampoo and conditioner or any other products from TIGI's Bedhead range? What did you think of them? Let me know in the comments below!

Disney Princess Brownie Cupcakes

With a Saturday afternoon to myself and a trip to Disneyland a mere month away, I felt inspired to bake some Disney Princess chocolate fudge brownie cupcakes. I found some of the most adorable Disney Princess themed cake decorations in my local ASDA, and so I simply couldn't help myself. As a little added extra, I decided to make a delicious white chocolate flavoured buttercream frosting for atop the brownies. I thought I would share with you all how to make these mouth-watering, magical treats.

Most Loved in March

It only took me approximately five-hundred years, but at the beginning of March I finally jumped onto the Beauty Blender and Tangle Teezer bandwagon. Why did it take me so long?! They immediately became essentials for me and I question myself every single day how I once had a beauty routine without them. When used damp, the Beauty Blender is perfect for applying smooth, flawless looking concealer, particularly under your eyes to give a more even coverage. I find it works so much better than a brush. I haven't yet went as far as using it for foundation, and I'm not sure if I will, but for concealer it is truly a godsend. It's also a must-have for applying cream highlighters! I didn't really understand the hype around Tangle Teezers until my hairdresser recently used one on my hair - all of a sudden my life was changed. It is super gentle on your hair and I find that not only is my hair a lot less static after using it, but less hair breaks off and collects in the brush in comparison to a regular paddle brush, therefore it's perfect to use when your hair is wet as well as dry, especially to aid hair growth. It leaves hair feeling silky soft and super healthy - whether it be thick or thin. They are available in a variation of colours and sizes - some with bristle covers which are perfect for travel! I can't go anywhere without mine.

I recently dyed my hair a few shades darker than usual and I found that Good Kisser by MAC pairs beautifully with the darker tones of my hair. Not only that, but it's generally a beautiful vibrant shade perfect for Spring. Everybody knows how much I love my vibrant shades! It is a mid-tone fuchsia with a matte finish. It was unfortunately limited edition as it was part of MAC Novel Romance collection in 2014, however a great dupe would be Impassioned by MAC. Spring is all about those pink-toned lippies!

In March I went out and bought myself a new bronzer as I felt the one I had been using previously was appearing too orange on my pale skin. Anyone with pale skin knows that finding a decent bronzer that doesn't appear orange/dirty is an exceptionally difficult challenge. After plenty of recommendations I decided to pick up Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder in the shade 01 Light Matte from The Body Shop. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with pale skin struggling to find a natural bronzer. It adds a beautiful sun-kissed glow to my complexion and also works wonders for contouring. It has quickly become my everyday go-to!

I have been obsessed with floral trousers recently, and so in preparation for my weekend in London, I purchased these chic Jools Monochrome Floral Print Trousers from PrettyLittleThing. They can be styled beautifully with boots, heels or flats - but for the longest time I had been eyeing up these flats from Topshop and thought they would be a perfect match for the trousers. I am head over heels (excuse the pun) for these shoes! They can be styled with a range of outfits and as a plus, they are super comfortable. The gold-toned buckle adds such an elegant chic vibe to any look. I couldn't find the exact pair online, as I bought them instore, however these LATTE Loafer Shoes are extremely similar and provide the same beautiful style.

What do you think of these products? Were you loving any of them or something similar throughout March? Let me know in the comments below!
