A Few New Beauty Additions.

Although it may come as quite a surprise, it has been a rather long time since I last made a splurge on any beauty products. As I started to notice quite a few of my everyday products running low, I decided to bite the bullet and see what beautiful new pieces I could add to my collection. I have been trialing these new beauty additions for over a week now and couldn't be more pleased with my purchases.

With my everyday foundations slowly but surely running low, I have been in the market for a new one. And so I decided to pick up the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation. I have to start off by mentioning the incredible shade range available with this foundation - I played a very risky game and bought mine without getting colour matched, but I did have a good idea about which shade I needed. Thankfully I was right and the shade matches my skin tone perfectly. But if you are feeling unsure about which shade would be best for your own skin, I would highly recommend trialing a few samples or getting colour matched if there is a Giorgio Armani counter local to you. If you get the shade right, this foundation will be your new holy grail. The formula is beautifully lightweight and silky, giving a medium build-able coverage. This foundation gives a very subtle glow to the skin which lasts all day, as opposed to turning oily after a couple of hours wear. I've used both a brush and a beauty blender to apply this foundation and although both give a beautiful finish, I've found that the beauty blender works best with this lighter formula. The description is in the name; it truly does give a luminous, silky finish.

The second beauty item I decided to purchase was the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette. I have been lusting after this gorgeous palette for over a year now and I finally decided to bite the bullet and add it to my collection. It goes without saying that the packaging of this product is simply dreamy, but the palette itself is an undeniable game-changer for contouring. It holds a beautiful sculpting shade alongside a gorgeously luminous highlighting shade and both blend effortlessly to create a flawlessly sculpted look. The contour shade is cool toned which is what makes it so perfect for contouring, it means you can avoid appearing orange or "muddy" - particularly for paler skin tones. It's also very build-able, meaning you can have your contour as natural or as dramatic as you please. The highlighter is pigmented very subtly to give a warm glow to the cheekbones. Due to its versatility, this palette has quickly become my everyday go-to - whether I'm opting for a more natural appearance or going all out with a full make-up look.

Truth be told, I simply couldn't leave it there with Charlotte Tilbury products. And so the last item I decided to add to my basket was the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in Bond Girl. Again, this is another divine CT product that I have had my eye on for the longest time and am now thrilled to finally have in my collection. This lipstick is a muted, medium-dark rosy plum with warm undertones and a satin finish. The coverage its quite build-able, I did find that I had to glide it onto my lips more than once to get the full effect. Nevertheless, this is a gorgeous shade that is perfect for everyday wear - particularly for work, as I feel it gives a very pulled-together, sophisticated vibe to a look. The formula is quite hydrating and rather long-lasting, however I have found that it doesn't necessarily last when eating or drinking and would need to be re-applied. Although I didn't purchase a lip liner alongside the lipstick, the CT Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk is a perfect match for this lipstick. Otherwise, MAC's Whirl is a perfect alternative.

Have you added any new beauty products to your collection recently? Have you tried any of these?
